Summary

This dataset contains a list of services provided by local councils (‘local authorities’) and links to the corresponding pages on local council websites. It’s maintained and owned by the Government Digital Service (GDS).

Note that the historical data contains all links stored by GOV.UK until 6th March 2024. After this point, the local authorities services data will only contain data for services that are present on gov.uk itself. That data updates daily, the historical data is a snapshot only.

The dataset covers England and Wales and contains some data for Scotland. It will cover Northern Ireland in the future.

GOV.UK uses the links to direct users to local council services, for example pay your council tax.

It replaces the dataset that was previously available on Local Directgov.
