Summary

This indicator is currently a Youth Justice Board (YJB) key performance indicator for Youth Offending Teams (YOT) so arrangements for collection of data are already in place. The indicator provides a local measure directly related to the national indicator on first time entrants in the DCSF led PSA to increase the number of children and young people on the path to success. The number of first-time entrants to the youth justice system, where first-time entrants are defined as young people (aged 10-17) who receive their first substantive outcome (relating to a reprimand, a final warning with our without an intervention, or a court disposal for those who go directly to court without a reprimand or final warning)
